Using Shakespeare’s plays Macbeth and The Tempest as starting points, this day-long workshop explores Shakespeare’s use of language and the ensemble staging of his plays. A variety of rehearsal room based approaches builds an understanding of the text while performance based practical strategies help improve the ability to stage the plays. A workshop designed to stimulate and enhance an enjoyment of studying and performing Shakespeare.
Suitable for actors, theatre-makers, students, teachers
and anyone interested in the worlds created by Shakespeare.
Age group: College students and older
Workshop Fees: Rs. 350 (includes light lunch and refreshments)

Rebecca Gould
Rebecca Gould is a theatre director and producer based in London . Previously she has been Associate Director at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth ; Special Projects Producer at the National Theatre, London ; Education Director at the English Shakespeare Company; Associate Director of Made in Wales Stage Company, Cardiff ; New Writing Advisor for the National Theatre Wales and Project Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Learning & Performance Network. She has directed for the Education Departments at the National Theatre and the RSC, and several other theatre companies across England and Wales . She has also produced and directed productions and festivals in London , Cardiff , Hong Kong , Kolkata and Ghana . She has co-written a book on ‘Shakespeare and Young People’ for Methuen Drama.
