Announcing a movement workshop with Jhuma Basak

Dancer, choreographer and psychoanalyst Jhuma Basak believes it is important to read poetry, watch theatre, see paintings/sculptures, listen to different kinds of music, be politically aware – only then one could actually dance. Her search has led her to create an alternative expression through Versedance, a form of dance-theatre that she feels can better express the complexity of contemporary life.

This 2-day workshop explores pure body movements gradually leading to physical narrative extensions using poetry or other texts, thereby creating distinct independent performing texts.
