Ranan is delighted to be the Calcutta outreach partner for Scottish Dance Theatre as part of their India-China tour this month. This is the third time in four years that we will work with SDT, and each time the relationship and engagement has grown. See below for the schedule this time - an exciting line-up of workshops, addas, residencies and performance between 10 to 20 October 2014.

October 2010, Calcutta: An adda with Janet Smith - former Artistic Director - on her recce tour of India.
August 2011, Dundee: Vikram Iyengar and Amlan Chaudhuri visit Scottish Dance Theatre in their home at Dundee Repertory Theatre, Scotland.
November 2012: SDT kick off our first SchoolConnect programme with a lec-dem for students, a visit to their technical rehearsal, a viewing of their performance in Calcutta, and another adda at Ranan.
April 2013: Vikram Iyengar and Fleur Darkin - artistic directors of Ranan and SDT respectively meet in Delhi on the latter's recce tour. Fleur Darkin later meets other Ranan members at the Ranan space in Calcutta and expresses special interest in our work in the Sundarbans.
November 2013: Vikram and Fleur meet again in Edinburgh, Scotland to take forward plans for 2014.
October 2014: SDT and Ranan working together again in Calcutta and Sundarbans.

11 Oct - Kala Mandir, Calcutta
- SDT performance as part of IMPULSE Season 2 presented by the British Council. Time: 7 pm.
12 Oct - Ranan Space, Rabindra Sarabar, Calcutta
- 'Preparing Participatory Performance' - SDT dancers in an adda about some of their interactive work. Time: 6 pm. Open to all.

14 - 20 Oct - Bali island, Sundarbans
- 6 day residency with SDT, where they will lead movement workshops with students of Bijoynagar Adarsha Bidyamandir and with members of local women's group, Disha.
